How do I know I need counseling?
We sometimes wonder, do I really need counseling or a therapist? I don’t know what to expect or how the process works? Here are some tips on how to know if it may be time to see a therapist:
1. Life seems to be harder than usual. You may feel like you haven’t been participating in activities you once enjoyed, or haven’t reached out to friends or family like you once have. It may feel like you’ve been stuck for some time and don’t know how to move forward.
2. This problem may be above your understanding. It is totally normal to not know how to handle a situation or event we are facing. Having a therapist to talk to can ease some anxiety when not know what to do or how to handle a particular situation.
3. You have been thinking about it for some time, and don’t know when the right time is. If you need a sign, this is it. It’s time to be proactive about your mental health and move forward into a brighter and more joyful tomorrow.
I know therapy can sound like a scary thing, but it doesn’t have to be. I hope to answer any questions you may have about the process and how I can make it easier for you.
I hope to hear from you soon!
